Leadership Development

Rick Horacek is in his 35th year in education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from New Mexico State University in 1982 and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Western New Mexico University in 1996. Mr. Horacek has held various roles in the education system, including Social Studies Teacher, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Instructional Support, District Shepherd, Executive Director for School Improvement, and currently, Director of Leadership and Support for Farmington Municipal Schools.
In his current role, Mr. Horacek supports principals in leading High-Reliability Schools through the FMS Instructional Leadership coaching model. He also provides coaching, leadership development, and onboarding for new administrators, focusing on the instructional and leadership systems established by the district.
