The Farmington Municipal School District relies upon best practices as laid out by the Department of Justice, groups affiliated with SchoolSafety.gov, and the State of New Mexico. Some of the practices that we follow, in general, are listed below:

Safety and Security Contacts

Dale Bode serves as the Safety and Security Supervisor at Farmington Municipal Schools. Hired in 2019, Mr. Bode is a retired Lieutenant from the Farmington Police Department (FPD), with 23 years in law enforcement. His diverse background encompasses roles such as a conservation officer for  New Mexico, as an Officer and Sergeant in the Patrol Division at FPD, and as Director of the San Juan County Criminal Justice Training Authority. He possesses Bachelor's Degrees in Journalism and Wildlife and Fisheries Science.

Albert Boognl serves in the role of Assistant Safety and Security Supervisor. Joining FMS in 2023, Mr. Boognl brings with him two decades of experience in law enforcement from his tenure at the Farmington Police Department. His extensive expertise covers positions as a patrolman, Canine Officer, Field Training Officer, Academy Master Instructor specializing in Use of Force and Defensive Tactics, School Resource Officer Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Social/Behavioral Sciences.
