Today was an exciting day for the students at Esperanza Elementary School, as they got to participate in their first in-person Career Day since the pandemic started. The students were very impressive and asked lots of questions and took notes during the event.
The event featured 18 different presenters, including a Mayor, Police Chief, Judge, Park Ranger, Rocket Scientist, Crime Scene Investigators, and a Bomb Squad. The students asked questions such as, “What do you study for your career?” and “How much money do you make?” which were answered by the presenters.
In addition to learning about different careers, the students also learned practical skills, such as how to aid an injured person and work in a team to put the person on a stretcher. They also learned about water rafting and how to rescue people who fall into the water.
Career Day is a great opportunity for young students to learn about a variety of professions and gain new insights into the types of careers that are available to them. They can learn about the skills required to pursue those careers and the importance of education.
We would like to thank Esperanza's Counselor Ms. Samantha Silversmith for organizing this wonderful event and extend our gratitude to all the presenters for making it a positive and exciting experience for our students. Here is the full list of presenters:
