Pops Concert 2023

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all the fantastic music teachers at FMS! You are the conductors who bring the joy of learning and growth through music into our schools. Your impact goes beyond just teaching notes and rhythms. You shape the lives of students, instilling in them a lifelong love and appreciation for music.

We wanted to share some photos from last night's Pops Concert, featuring the talented orchestras from Tibbetts Middle School and Farmington High School. They performed incredible pieces like "A Viking's Tale," "Seven Nation Army," "Ear-igami," "Bitter Sweet Symphony," "Electric Breakdance," "Thinking Out Loud," "Downtown Funk," and "A Riverside Celebration."

During "Ear-igami,” the orchestras play their instruments with paper before folding and tossing them in the air.

A big round of applause goes to Ms. Monica Leaming, who has been at FMS for 25 years! We also want to congratulate and wish the best of luck to the graduating seniors: Jerrison Benally, Morgan Deale, Natalie Frank, Justin Holmes, Santae Joe, Octavia Tahy, and Lance Thrower. And a special congratulations to Amahni Prespentt (below), who has earned a full scholarship to Eastern New Mexico University. Well done, everyone!

Thank you for celebrating and appreciating our music teachers during this special week. Let's continue to support and encourage the love of music in our schools!
