- Submit by July 7, 2023. You can submit your artwork at FMS Native American Programs located at 3401 East 30th Street, Suite A, in Farmington. Please contact us at (505) 599-8616 extension 3003 or 3004 before submitting your artwork to make sure we have staff available to collect it.
- Eligibility: Kindergarten – 12th-grade students. One entry per student.
- Entry requirements: Must submit student entry and artwork release form. The artwork size must be 8.5”x11”.
- Artwork Theme: The theme for the Art Contest is: “Building the Future, Reigniting the Culture and Language.” We want to see what this topic inspires in you as a student. Artwork can be realistic or abstract.

Any of the following media requirements may be used:
- Paint (watercolor, tempera, acrylic, etc.)
- Drawing materials (pencil, charcoal, colored chalk, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, etc.
- Students are encouraged to use bold colors.
Deadline for Entries: All entries must be postmarked no later than July 7, 2023. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Notification of Winners: One Grand prize winner. One 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will be selected from the elementary, middle school, and high school during the monthly Johnson O’Malley Planning Committee meeting, and notifications will be sent shortly thereafter. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
- The grand prize winner will receive an Award Ribbon and a Backpack full of art supplies.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place winners will receive Award Ribbons and Art Supplies.
