It's National Principals' and Assistant Principals' Day! Today we want to celebrate and thank our educational leaders who not only promote a healthy work environment for our teachers but also create a safe space for students to do their best academically. FMS is so incredibly grateful for all of their hard work and dedication to making this district excellent. We would like to highlight three of our wonderful staff members in particular who will be closing this chapter as principals of their beloved schools.
Ms. Liz Ledek has been with Bluffview Elementary School since 2011 when she was hired on as a teacher. She moved to Assistant Principal in 2017 and then again to Principal in 2022 where she has made a huge impact on Bluffview. Ms. Ledek is passionate about her school and making lasting relationships with her staff, students, and families. She checks in with her staff frequently to ensure that they have the necessary resources to facilitate learning and always leaves them with encouraging words. She will be greatly missed!
"Bluffview will always have a special place in my heart. We have tried to make Bluffview all about strong, caring, working relationships. Relationships are fostered between our staff and students, and between the adults in the building. The education profession is not an easy job, and I believe it is truly a calling to work with young minds to prepare them now and for their futures. We have the best educators and staff who perform this hard job daily with a smile on their faces, applied expertise, and a positive outlook for success. It has been a great pleasure and honor to have worked with such an amazing group of people for the last 13 years of my career and to serve the wonderful families and students in this area. Thank you to my Bluffview Family that I will always cherish, and smile when I think of all the wonderful memories we have together." - Ms. Liz Ledek, Principal at Bluffview Elementary School
Ms. Lyn White has been the Principal of McCormick Elementary School since the year 2000 and has built an outstanding community within her school! She strives to give students the absolute best in education, always ensuring that needs are met and exceeded. Ms. White has an excellent rapport with her staff who always feel supported and comfortable talking with Ms. White about new ideas and growth opportunities. Ms. White has given so much to McCormick and we are immensely grateful for everything she has done for this district!
"I have been so blessed to be part of Farmington Schools and the McCormick staff for the last 24 years. I will certainly miss the school staff, students and families in my daily life. I know that McCormick is in great hands as the incoming principal, Ms. Fernandez, takes over the leadership position here!" - Ms. Lyn White, Principal at McCormick Elementary School
Ms. Pamela Schritter has been with Farmington Schools since 1993! Her most recent move was to the Principal position at Mesa Verde Elementary School back in 2016. It's safe to say that Ms. Schritter absolutely loves working in education. Her enthusiasm and ambition to provide the best student outcomes have radiated through her school and inspired positivity and motivation to be excellent. Her staff receives frequent check-ins and support in one-on-one meetings to make sure that their goals are achieved. Thank you for all that you have done for Mesa Verde, Ms. Schritter, we can't wait for you to come back and visit!
