Today, Farmington Municipal Schools celebrated the grand opening of our new Outdoor Garden Classroom at Esperanza Elementary with a ribbon-cutting ceremony! It was a special moment for our families, community members, and students. We were joined by agricultural leaders Ms. Lisa Hawkins and Ms. Rebekah Davis, who shared their inspiring journeys with classroom gardening.
This is the first of many Garden Classrooms we plan to bring to all our schools, offering students hands-on experiences in planting, growing, and caring for plants and trees. Through this space, they’ll also learn how our food is grown locally and how it ties into the district’s composting and recycling efforts.
We’re so excited about this new opportunity for our students to connect with nature and learn valuable life skills! Stay tuned for more updates.
