In just a few weeks, our 5th graders can sign up for music programs for the next school year. To help them explore their options, our talented music students from Heights Middle School toured Mesa Verde, Animas, and Country Club today for a special music showcase.
During the tour, elementary students got a firsthand look at the orchestra, band, and choir programs. They heard beautiful performances, saw a variety of instruments up close, and got a feel for what it’s like to be part of a music group. This exciting experience helped them imagine themselves as future musicians.
A huge thank you to our incredible music educators: Mr. Cody Jackson (Band), Ms. Allison Carson (Orchestra), and Ms. Siromani Leath (Choir). They do an amazing job of inspiring young musicians every day.
And bravo to our touring students who played and sang wonderful renditions of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, Brian Beck’s Flash!, Vichten, a beautiful choral piece by Arthur Arsenault featuring nonsense syllables, and Ms. Leath’s original In The Spirit of the Morning. They did an amazing job performing and sharing their passion for music with our younger students.
