As you start your day, FMS, let us celebrate the owners of local restaurant Pizza 9.

A few weeks back, Nick Fish, the owner, and operator of the restaurant donated coupons for free personal pan pizzas to our elementary schools, as a way for principals to reward students for their positive behavior, good citizenship, academics, and all the wonderful qualities FMS students have displayed during the academic year. This reward system has been an incredible hit with the students.

“We used the Pizza 9 certificates as weekly rewards to celebrate positive office referrals for students making a difference through acts of kindness, showing responsibility, being positive role models, and academic achievement. The students had a great reaction to the positive recognition and the coupons. We are grateful for Pizza 9 and their support of our students,” said Davina Terry, Apache Elementary School Principal.

“We are so grateful for community members who want to encourage students to be responsible and good. I spoke with Mr. Fish and he was gracious. He offered to support our kids and said that if we needed more coupons to just let him know,” said Luanne Davis, Bluffview Elementary Principal.

And Mr. Fish’s gesture got more generous.

When FMS asked Mr. Fish if we could have a few more coupons, he agreed. And since his first donation, he has agreed to donate 1,000 awards to all 10 of our elementary schools because he believes in the importance of students, their education, and our community.

From all of us at FMS, huge thanks to the owners of Pizza 9 for their incredible generosity and for supporting our students!

Pizza 9 is located at 685 Scott Avenue in Farmington. Remember to support local restaurants, FMS.

Kudos to our schools for their use of positive reinforcement as one more tool to tackle the many challenges we face. Special kudos to Apache Elementary and Bluffview Elementary for creating a positive student culture.
