2024-2025 FMS Academic Year Calendar

FMS families, the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar was approved and amended by the Board of Education on May 7, 2024. Here are some key dates and important information for you to know and remember:

 

Start/End of School:

  • Teachers will return on August 5-6 to prepare for the school year.

  • Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th graders will start classes on August 7.

  • All other grades will begin school on August 8.

  • Preschool students begin their journey on August 12.

  • The last day of school is May 23, 2025.

  • Family Engagement Days will occur on May 27-28, 2025 (No school).

New School Hours:

In 2024-2025, the school day will end earlier than last year.

  • Preschool Academies times will remain from 8:00 to 2:30 p.m.

  • For Elementary School kids, classes will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

  • Middle Schoolers will start at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 3:15 p.m.

  • High School students will have classes from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

No Early Release Days:

Next year, there won't be early release days on Mondays, there will be four (4) full days dedicated to teachers' professional development, as well as a holiday on November 5, as required by law.

Weather Delays/Cancellations:

Please note a change in our procedures regarding weather delays: Classes will no longer be canceled on Mondays if there's a delay. More information can be found on our Weather Delays and Closures page here.

No School Supplies Reminder:

Please note that Farmington Municipal Schools will not be providing school supplies in 2024-2025. Supply lists will come from your schools.

No Laptop Fees:

This year, there will be no fees for using the laptops. Also, to help prevent damage to our devices, every laptop will come with a protective plastic case. As long as the laptop stays in its case, you won’t be charged for accidental physical damage. Read more about changes in our Student Parent Laptop Use Agreement.
