FMS, check out these special lunch items for this month that your kids won’t want to miss!
September 5: We’re kicking off the month with National Cheese Pizza Day! All students will enjoy a tasty slice of cheese pizza.
September 11: In honor of Patriot’s Day, we’ll serve a red, white, and blue popsicle with every lunch at all grade levels.
September 13: Middle and High School students will get to try the winning pasta dish from our Junior Chef Competition. This amazing dish was created by our talented Team Knights (Heights) students: Ben Broderick, Judah Dickenson, and Michael Hampton. You can read more about the competition here. For our younger students (Pre-K and Elementary), we’ll be serving spaghetti with meat sauce.
September 18: Get ready for National Cheeseburger Day! All students will enjoy a delicious cheeseburger.
September 20: To celebrate National States & Capitals Day, students will receive a fun, educational cookie treat with facts about U.S. states and capitals.
September 26: Don’t miss Nuevo Thursday! Breakfast will feature yummy pancakes, and for lunch, we’ll be serving Chicken Alfredo and Baked Potatoes, using potatoes from NAPI. “Nuevo Thursdays” is a fun program designed for schools, early care centers, and senior centers to introduce fresh, healthy meals made with ingredients grown right here in New Mexico! Every Thursday, your child can look forward to trying something new on the menu—whether it’s a fresh fruit, a tasty vegetable, or even an entire meal made entirely from New Mexico-grown ingredients. Nuevo Thursdays is all about exploring new flavors and healthy options!
FMS currently offers salad options along with fresh fruit, and we’re exploring adding more vegan choices to our menus.
For students with food allergies, we work closely with our Health Office to ensure that any special dietary needs are met. If your children require a special diet, please complete the Special Diet Request Form so we can take extra care to provide meals that fit their needs.
This year, FMS is also introducing vending machines at Farmington High School and Piedra Vista High School. These machines will give students more choices for breakfast and lunch, including “fuel meals” designed for athletes. Students will use their school ID to grab a meal once a day.
