Our middle schoolers just had an exciting hands-on learning experience with the 4H Gardening Club at the Boys & Girls Club of Farmington. They continued to explore the world of gardening by learning how to seed and plant for different seasons.
On Tuesday, our students had a fantastic opportunity to hear from the wonderful folks at Gathings Gardens, where they learned about fortifying and prepping the soil and how to journal their gardening progress—valuable skills they can use for years to come. To wrap up this class, students who have attended all classes will receive their very own hydroponic grow kit.
A huge thank you to Jeremy and Selece Gathings for generously sharing their time and expertise with our students. We’re also grateful to the Boys & Girls Club of Farmington for making this opportunity possible and for all they do in our community. Lastly, a big shout out to AMF for teaching lessons and donating compost, dirt, and rocks to help our students bring their gardening lessons to life!
Registration is now open for our next 4H Gardening Club session that starts on February 25.
