Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) has some exciting news to share about McKinley Elementary School! There will be some changes in leadership. Ms. Becky Ferris will be the new Principal, and Ms. Melissa Vigil will be taking on the role of Assistant Principal.
“I am honored to have been selected as the new principal of McKinley Elementary. I am committed to McKinley, and I will continue to strive for the success of all students. I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, collaborative, and positive school culture to ensure that all students and staff are provided with the needed opportunities to be successful. I look forward to continuing strong partnerships with our McKinley community in achieving educational excellence,” said Ms. Ferris.
“It is a great privilege to have been selected as the new assistant principal of McKinley Elementary. I am excited to work with the amazing staff, students, and families as we work together to strive for educational excellence. I knew I wanted to be an educator since I was in kindergarten and now, I look forward to sharing my passion for growing and learning alongside the McKinley Jaguar community,” said Ms. Vigil.
Ms. Ferris has been a part of the FMS family since 1988, and the Assistant Principal since 2018. Ms. Vigil has been with us since 2007, most recently serving as the Blended Learning Specialist Instructional Coach at McKinley.
Huge thanks to Ms. Carla Pfeffer for guiding McKinley Elementary since 2018. Ms. Pfeffer has been with FMS since 2008.
