Last Thursday, we had almost 20 parent volunteers, plus numerous students from Navajo class who helped make dough, cook and distribute frybread to close to 600 people; pretty much every student and adult on campus. Many hands made it happen!
We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving Break with those you love. We'll see you again on November 27.

The Tibbetts Band is going to help cheer on our basketball team as they play against Heights. Come listen to the band and support them as they support the girls on the court. Band students need to stay after school and will be dismissed after the football game around 6 PM.

Orchestra students will be invited to "Orchestra at the Symphony" tomorrow, November 5. This concert is called, "Ravishing" and will feature three 20th century composers, including Ravel and Rachmaninoff. The concert pre-talk will begin at 2:00 where students will learn about the music that is about to be performed and the concert will begin at 3:00 PM. The public is more than welcome and encouraged to attend our local professional performances at San Juan College Henderson Performing Arts Theater. Tickets available at the door.
As part of Native American Heritage month, we will be serving frybread on Thursday, November 16th. We are looking for volunteers who can help make and cook the bread, as well as needing the use of any cooking supplies you might be willing to lend. All ingredients will be provided. Yesterday, we celebrated the end of Prevention Month at Tibbetts Middle School! Students have all received small group lessons from the counselors on the topics of bullying and substance abuse prevention/intervention. All students were invited to sign the pledge to stand together against bullying, and to live a drug free lifestyle at the end of their lessons. Please continue these important conversations at home.
To celebrate what was learned, and students who pledged to make our school a safer learning environment, Tibbetts does an Annual Anti-Bullying and Substance Abuse Prevention Door Decorating competition, & the results are in!!
1st Place- Mrs. Mahan, 6th grade
2nd Place - Office Aides, 6th, 7th & 8th grade
3rd Place- Mrs. Hart, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade
Doors were judged on visual impact, creativity, and craftsmanship/completeness. Doors were judged by 19 of our Peer-2-Peer Helpers.
We had 34 doors decorated throughout our school!! Congratulations to 8th grade students and teachers for having full participation, every door in 8th grade hall was decorated!! Thank you students, staff for all of your hard work! We appreciate that you were able to continue the conversations on these important topics as you designed your doors!! A big thank you to our parent Liaison, Candace Krestel for enlisting the support of parent volunteers, we appreciate your creativity and support of Prevention Month at Tibbetts!!
We would like to spotlight Olive Garden for supporting our efforts to reduce bullying and bringing awareness to the dangers of addiction to our students. Thank you for making a generous donation to celebrate our 1st place winners with a pasta party!!
